What is a performance?
Performance is the term used for any video or audio content created on or uploaded to the Gigstarz platform. LIVE performances are currently broadcasting, while ARCHIVED performances have either been uploaded or saved broadcasts created using the Gigstarz platform. The website is color coded in such a way that orange represents LIVE and blue represents ARCHIVED.
What are payout requests?
A payment request is the Gigstarz term for withdrawing money from your Gigstarz account.

Funds may be withdrawn from your Gigstarz account. From the My Account → Dashboard click on Payout Request and then fill out the necessary information. Make sure that you have updated and confirmed your payment information so that Gigstarz knows who to make the check payable to and where to mail the check to. Your payment information is located in the My Account → Financials → Payout Information section.

Payout requests submitted for $30 or more will be processed free of charge. Any payout requests submitted for fewer than $30 will be subject to a $2.50 processing fee.

Payout requests that are submitted by the 15th of the month will be processed by the 1st of the following month.

Once you submit a payout request, your request will be set to a status of ‘pending’. Upon review by Gigstarz, your request will be set to a status of ‘processing’. Once Gigstarz has processed and mailed your check, your request will be set to a status of ‘completed’.

What are budz?

In order to become budz with another user, you can click on the appropriate icon to send them a budz request from the user’s profile or performance pages. Once they accept the budz request, you both will be budz and both of your contact lists will be updated accordingly. Contacts can be maintained from the My Account → Contacts section.

What are starz?
Starz are the users that you want to follow. Your starz will be able to send you performance notifications, mail messages and private messages. In the My Account section, you will see a list of your starz scheduled performances.

If you add another user to your starz contact list, you will become a fan of theirs. For example, if User A adds User B to their starz list, then User A becomes a fan of User B and will therefore be automatically added to User B's fanz list.

In order to add a user to your starz contact list, you can click on the appropriate icon from the user’s profile or performance pages. Both of your contact lists will be updated accordingly. Contacts can be maintained from the My Account → Contacts section.

What are fanz?
Fanz are the users that are following you. They think you are interesting and talented and want to be notified when you are broadcasting LIVE and create new videos. You will be able to send performance notifications, mail messages and private messages to the users on your fanz contact list. To enhance your Gigstarz business, you will want to build out your fanz contact list. Users may become part of your fanz contact list by adding you as a star from your profile or performance pages. Contacts can be maintained from the My Account → Contacts section.

What are genres and subgenres?
Genres and subgenres are used to organize content on Gigstarz. Each video will be associated to a genre and sub-genre when they are created. Users can then search the various genres by clicking on a particular genre from the genre listing on any webpage. Users will then be brought to the Channels Page which is the Gigstarz TV guide like content listing.
What are the featured performances?
Featured performances are individually selected by Gigstarz and placed on the homepage.
What are open streams?
Open streams are created when performances are interrupted while broadcasting. Performers have the ability to archive, delete, or continue broadcasting an open stream.

Open streams are housed within the My Account → Dashboard and the My Account → Performances section.
What is the starz rating and how is it calculated for a performance?
Registered users can vote on the quality of performances by selecting the appropriate amount of stars. Users may vote out of a 5 star rating system. All of the starz ratings submitted for a particular performance will be averaged together with the calculated average displayed throughout the site.
What is pending balance?
If you have sold access to LIVE broadcasts or scheduled shows, the money paid by viewers will remain at a status of pending until you have successfully broadcasted and finished your performances. Make sure that your shows last the amount of time you indicated to ensure a satisfactory viewer experience. Once you have successfully finished your performance, the funds will move from pending to available.
What are parental ratings, what are the available ratings and how is the parental rating for a performance calculated?
Parental ratings are used to classify the type of content included in each performance. These ratings are used to help potential viewers understand if the content of the performances are appropriate for certain users. There are 4 parental ratings:

- ALL content for all ages
- KIDS adult supervision encouraged
- 13+ adult supervision for a child under 13 years of age strongly encouraged
- 18+ must be 18 or older to view

When the performer initially creates a performance, they assign a parental rating. Every registered user that watches the performance will have the ability to assign their opinion of the parental rating. All of the parental rating submissions for a particular performance will be averaged together with the calculated average displayed throughout the site. The purpose of this system is to calculate the fairest representation of the parental rating using all users’ input.
